In July 2009, the LiNGO survey team opened all of the more than 140 countries for registration. As demand is demonstrated for particular locations, we will try to get more organisations to participate in those surveys to gain the largest possible number of respondents. Most surveys will launch after a critical mass of ten organisations with a minimum of fifteen local staff have registered in that country, in some key countries, such as Kenya and Uganda, the threshold of participating organisations may be a little higher to ensure the best possible data for the location. You can check your survey location under the regional survey areas to find out the progress on launch. We have the capacity to run 10 locations in each survey wave, priority will be based on the first ten locations to sign up enough participants. So please make sure to act fast and let your peers know to ensure that the survey you want is conducted! In any give survey location you can participate if you have 15 or more local employees, but don't worry if you don't meet this minimum criteria as we will try to accommodate you and you can purchase the data, especially if you are participating in other locations.
Should a country not reach the targeted number of participants fast enough or not be able to close registration to start the survey, we will inform registered organisations. We will then assign a new survey wave for it to ensure sufficient participation and strong results.
Once a survey location is signed off to be run through a registration period, we will let everyone know. If you are participating you will then have a 6-week period from the notification to provide your data. The Birches Group will contact you to organise a suitable interview time. You must be prepared to submit your salary and benefits and organisational structure during the survey interview with the analyst. All information and data we receive will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
Within 8 weeks of starting the survey, we will close the survey to analyse the data. We will then complete and distribute the report within 12 weeks of the survey start for a location.
The cost of each survey is US$900 per surveyed location for NGOs and US$1,500 for-profit members of InsideNGO or People-in-Aid. See detail price list here. Although you will be asked to submit your billing contact when you register, you will not be required to make payment until your survey is started. When the survey is launched, you will be notified, and requested to schedule an interview for data collection. At the same time, you will receive an invoice for the survey participation fee, which is due at the time of the survey launch. Survey reports will not be provided to those organizations with an outstanding balance.
